The entire frame is constructed of 6061T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. This keeps weight low, while providing a very rigid structure.
To add a "belt-and-suspenders" approach to frame longevity, the entire frame is first constructed, and then given a high-gloss black powder coating. Just about any color you can imagine is available, but special orders will add some time to the process.
As Henry Ford once said of his Model-T automobile: "You can have any color you like, so long as it's black". We don't go quite that far, but we get close.
