Steering for the BOOMERtrikeTMis uncommon, but once you ride 50 feet, you'll wonder why you didn't think of it first. I know we didn't think of it first either.
Steering can be made for either left-hand or right-hand. We'll describe the right-handed set-up here:
As you sit in the seat, your left hand grasps a handle that looks like the tiller, but it's just there to give you a steady reference point. (And to give us a place to mount one of the brake levers and a grip shifter.)
Your right hand operates the a brake lever, and the front derailleur. (Which brake is in what hand, and which derailleur goes left or right is entirely up to you as well.)
So you're sitting in the chair (seat) holding a steady handle and a tiller. As you start to move, you can push the lever to the right to turn right and pull it toward the left side of the trike to turn left. To get a picture, if the trike is traveling striaight north-south, you're moving the tiller straight east-west.
All that was more difficult to write than it is to do. Go figure.
